Historic Photo of the Day: 1940s Political Poster of the Partido Popular Democratico (PPD)
This impressive document offered a detailed 25-point program, largely centered around the economy of Puerto Rico.
It emphasized Puerto Rican ownership and autonomy over land use, manufacturing, public works, and infrastructure construction (highways, bridges, reservoirs, airports).
It noted that in 1948, Puerto Rico would be able to elect “its own” governor.
Very prominently, in large bold letters, the bottom of the poster promised:
A PEOPLE MARCHING TOWARD THEIR LIBERATION
WAR AGAINST ALL PUERTO RICANS 
@Jorge Rivera: You’ll saying that the “people” want to stay associated with and keeping the “AMERICAN Citizenship”? In other words, you prefer to be a SLAVE; a second class SLAVE to these Vultures. And, the same Quislings who sell out our nation to those Capitalists and Imperialists who made possible the perpetuation of this island. Or, have you forgotten the 2012 plebiscite? the people said NO! To this “association” with the U.S.A.
If you still believe that we are okay with the current status,you welcome. Just wait until 2016, when the U.S. voters decide to elect Donald Trump as President. He promised, among things, to eliminate the U.S. citizenship to the children born of immigrants, illegal or otherwise. If he decides to terminate “our” association with the U.S.A., he will do it. If that happens, don’t come up complaining if we return to the days of the Foraker Act and Jones Act. In that moment, the TRUE MARCH FOR THE LIBERATION OF PUERTO RICO will begin. That’s all.

Nations does not have to wait for some one to be liberated, they have to do it by them self.

Nelson, the march has not stopped, it has been SLOWED by the same political party that started the march, the Partido Popular Democrático (PPD). And unfortunately for you and those with your Socialistic ideology, the PEOPLE do not want Independence and prefer to STAY associated and KEEPING the AMERICAN citizenship.
