The Bill to Free Puerto Rico

War Against All Puerto Ricans: Revolution and Terror in America’s Colony

Congressman Luis Gutierrez has filed a historic bill on behalf of Puerto Rico. It creates a specific referendum, which enables Puerto Rico to choose between Independence and Commonwealth.

The “statehood” option is not included in this bill because the US congress will not give statehood to Puerto Rico…not with Donald Trump in the White House, the GOP in control of the entire legislature, and mass deportations on the Six O’Clock News. Here is the entire text of Rep. Gutierrez’s bill…

The Gutierrez bill, also known as HR 900, allows Puerto Ricans living in the US to participate in the referéndum. This will increase the eligible electorate from 3.5 million, to roughly 9 million Puerto Ricans.

There is an understandable feeling that only Puerto Ricans living on the island should vote in this referendum. However, Puerto Ricans are a very large extended family. One million of us were forced to leave the island over the past twelve years, and nearly 800,000 of us settled in the Orlando, FL area.

We travel back and forth to the island, and visit our families constantly. Why shouldn’t we be allowed to vote?

With respect to the “statehood” option, it has been painfully clear for decades, that there are enormous obstacles within the US government, economy, and social structure, against the statehood of Puerto Rico. Rep. Gutierrez himself discussed several of these obstacles in a recent editorial.

It is time to resolve the political status of Puerto Rico…before the US Financial Control Board, and the people behind it, suck all the life out of the island.

  1. So much intellectual hypocrisy. Any one who believes in Puerto Rico libre needs to , like Mr Maribras, resign to their US citizenship and live in the island. But to live in the US, take wellfare, enjoy the US citizenship and try to make a political decision that will affect others and not the deciding party is a crime and hypocrisy. If you believe in this move to island , wok it from within be for real not a clown like luis.

  5. Puerto Rico: Libre? Asociado? Estado? Colonia? Etc? Etc¿ ……..Until we realize that no matter how many times and ways Mortals want to continue the game, Peace can only come when the Mind accepts the Truth that Puerto Rico always was, is now, and always will be A State Of Mind given by God to His Blessed children. And, anybody, anywhere, who can feel this is A Puerto Rican. We are hid by Christ with God in the Lamb found on our flag. Go, Figure!

  8. Can Puerto Rico survive as an independant country? Will the infrastructure support Independence. Those questions need to be answered before this vote is put in place.

  10. I believe that both parties in Puerto Rico were placed there as an entertainment knowing full well that statehood has never been an option regardless if “The People” want statehood or not. It has never been up to the People of Puerto Rico because our Island is owned by the US Congress to make the United States richer not for the benefit of the island. I would vote for the Independence of our Island.
