A Pulitzer Prize for Kike Estrada
Kike Estrada is one of the best political cartoonists in the world. Kike conveys mountains of information with just one image. He could easily chair BOTH the political science and fine arts departments, at any college campus in Puerto Rico.
His website contains over 1,000 political cartoons, and he deserves the Pulitzer Prize.

This last image illustrates the dilemma of Kike, with respect to the Pulitzer Prize Board.
To everyone in Puerto Rico, it obviously refers to Anaudi Hernandez: the PPD bagman whose corruption was so astounding, so Olympic in its proportions, that he collected over $400,000 for a fake “telephone system” that, quite naturally, did not work…after he “installed” it in the Capital Building of Puerto Rico, for the entire Puerto Rican legislature!
That is truly world-class corruption.
The problem is…Puerto Rico is a modern-day Macondo.
Politically and economically, it is a land of magic realism…
Where public schools, public beaches, pension systems, goat-sized potholes, sociopathic governors, mayors stealing $1.5 million in social security taxes, a Kafkaesque PROMESA, a corrupt Financial Control Board, Tito Kayak, PREPA, Zika, Monsanto, Anaudi and a Tennessee Plan are all flying around in the air…
A demented Caribbean tornado…
Like the last chapter in 100 Years of Solitude…
And no one really hears it but us. The Puerto Ricans who suffer it.
Especially the Puerto Ricans living through it every day, on the island itself.
That is the torture…the existential dilemma…of Planeta Kike.
No wonder Kike lives in a mountain.
