Who will fix the roads in Puerto Rico?
According to the US Federal Highway Administration, the roads of Puerto Rico are in worse physical condition than all 50 states, and they rank 45th in amount of traffic congestion.
This presents a difficult question. Since the commonwealth government is insolvent, with little or no money for road repair, then who will manage and maintain the roads of Puerto Rico?
The road conditions were recently reported in multiple news sites: El Nuevo Dia, Telemundo, Metro, Noticel and El Vocero.
Just this week, the Senate of Puerto Rico suddenly “discovered” a so-called “asphalt cartel,” which has been using sub-standard asphalt for many years, in road repairs throughout the island.
SOMETHING SHADY IN ALL THIS?
Obviously, an island with over 3 million vehicles and virtually no public transportation, must have its roads maintained.
But there is something too neat in all this…
The media all suddenly “report” a crumbling network of roads, and the Senate “discovers” an asphalt cartel…just one week after Gov. Garcia-Padilla “announces” a re-negotiated deal with Goldman Sachs and Abertis Inc., which netted them an additional $1.25 BILLION DOLLARS.
Some groundwork is clearly being laid, for swaying public opinion in Puerto Rico…and preparing everyone for a wave of “public private partnerships” which may take over the island’s highway system.
There is something shady about a coordinated media campaign, just before a new governor takes office, who has vopenly declared his support for “public private partnerships” throughout the island.
A NEW PROPAGANDA PROTOCOL?
Over the next few years, this may the propaganda protocol for Puerto Rico…
Declare a “crisis” in some aspect of its public infrastructure, just before Gov. Ricky Roselló issues the RFPs (Requests for Proposal) from private sector bidders.
It is a formula for privatization, private wealth, mass manipulation, and the legal sale…

Over the last dozen years in Vieques, roads received sporadic repaving. But as the jobs were completed, one could see that: 1. There was inadequate prep work performed, and 2. The quality (and temperature) of the materials being applied were poor and out of specification. It has always brought to mind the lack of proper government oversight and enforcement leading to the acceptance of poor and corrupt workmanship. Yes, greed and incompetence (accidental or intentional) plague our system and fleece our pocketbooks.

When is someone going to arrest the governor Padilla.
He is one of the biggest crooks that has the island of PR in the state that it is. Look into his off shore accounts and you will find all of the money he took from the citizens of PR that the US sent.
The US government is the fool if they dont go after this guy and his family. Confiscate everything they have cause it was all purchased with stolen money. God help him the day he goes to hell.

Who are the beneficiaries of the tolls. It was the understanding that in order to maintain the road in useable conditions, whoever used the road have to pay a toll. Where does the money goes?

Ay, Bendito! Que Paso! Que Sorpresa! Has all this been happening right under our blind eyes and under the direction of the Occupying Powers and the Vende-Patria Politicians and ONLY NOW we see it? Oh, well! And another Ay, Bendito!
In the 60’s when the criminal asphalt cartel was not yet invented, and when as a young boy, oh yes, it was difficult to get to homes of friends and relatives around the Island. And, at times a little dangerous when the Guaguas made some turns, speeding around curves we got where we headed for. Sure, the existing, natiural Roads were getting everyone “there” but always late.
But when the Time came to tempt Eve to pave Paradise with the rotten apple of Greed, the usual worms surfaced to reinvent the way. So, time to start a new. WAR. AGAINST. ALL. PUERTO RICANS. for profit.
Another.discovery and time to solve it. Now all together, Let’s all give the usual war cry of A Y, B E N D I T O!
