I do not support Donald Trump.
But this not alter the fact that Hillary Clinton – and the entire Democratic Party – are taking Puerto Ricans for suckers in the 2016 election.
Clinton took massive campaign contributions from hedge funds that own the “public debt” of Puerto Rico.
She lobbied for the PROMESA bill.
She perpetuated the conditions that forced hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans to move to Florida. And now…those Puerto Ricans will vote for “Hillary” next week.
Hillary hispandering in San Juan
They will swing Florida for Hillary Clinton…and this critical Puerto Rican vote…could put Hillary in the White House.
This is not a “theory.” It is being reported around the country, right now.
A BITTER PILL TO SWALLOW
This is a painful irony.
It is further evidence, of the perverse position of Puerto Ricans in US society…a position which forces us to reward people, for kicking us in the teeth.
Hillary Clinton, Pres. Obama, and his administration pushed Puerto Rico into financial insolvency. They refused to offer any bankruptcy relief, Jones Act reform, Treasury Dept. solutions, or executive orders of any sort. They even lobbied for the PROMESA legislation, and for a Financial Control Board.
BAILOUTS FOR WALL STREET
Immediately after entering the White House, Pres. Obama bailed out nearly every investment bank on Wall Street – even though all of them had trafficked in subprime mortgages, and had knowingly created the mortgage crisis of 2007.
Within two months of taking office, in March 2009, Obama approved and presided over the $182 billion bailout of AIG, even though AIG had already been fined $1.6 billion for securities fraud, and criminal charges had been filed by the SEC against several AIG executives.
Everyone, including the top CEOs, received their Christmas bonuses at AIG – even as millions of people lost their homes.
Altogether, the 2008 taxpayer bailout of Wall Street cost ONE TRILLION DOLLARS.
CONTROL BOARDS FOR PUERTO RICO
But everything changes, when the island needs some help. There is a double standard for Puerto Ricans.
For nearly two years, Obama completely ignored the Puerto Rico economic crisis. His only advice was “talk to Congress.” The president took no action, and accepted no responsibility, for the economic meltdown in Puerto Rico.
Then on June 29, 2015 – after doling out one trillion dollars to white collar criminals on Wall Street – Pres. Obama announced that “There’s no one in the administration or in D.C. that’s contemplating a federal bailout of Puerto Rico.”
He was perfectly willing to let Puerto Rico fall into a death spiral…with no bankruptcy protection, no access to credit markets, and no ability to repay $72 billion.
In fact, it was the Obama administration that convinced the US Supreme Court – in the Sanchez Valle and Franklin Trust cases – that Puerto Rico is a territorial possession of the US.
PROFITING FROM THE ISLAND’S MISERY
More than one year ago, we warned that Obama and Hillary Clinton might want Puerto Rico to fail.
Why?
For a very cynical reason.
If Puerto Rico fails, this forces more Puerto Ricans to move to Florida – and to New York, North Carolina, Arizona, Texas – where they become Democratic voters in the 2016 presidential election.
In other words…Obama, Clinton and the Democratic Party would actually benefit, if the Puerto Rican economy sinks into the Caribbean.
The Democratic Party game plan for 2016
This is a brutal, inhuman calculus…the type that has been used in Puerto Rico since 1898.
It is so brutal, that many people scoffed and ridiculed when we issued this warning about the 2016 election.
“Stop the conspiracy theories!” they said.
OMG…IF TIME MAGAZINE SAYS IT…THEN IT MUST BE TRUE!
But now this warning is being confirmed.
One year after our analysis here in War Against All Puerto Ricans…
Time Magazine, the Christian Science Monitor, and other news media finally caught up to us.
Vox published a major story on it, just two days ago. The headline of the Vox report says it all:
“Puerto Rico’s collapsing economy could win the election for Hillary Clinton”
It is sad to see Puerto Ricans kicked in the teeth, and taken for granted.
It is sickening to watch multi-millionaire politicians – with $10 million book deals and billion dollar foundations – as they engineer and profit from the misery.
For over a year, we’ve been warning about it.
Now that Time Magazine woke up…pricked up her ears…and wrote the story…OMG!…then it must be true.
For a history of the War Against All Puerto Ricans, read the book…

lest you forget who screwed Puerto Rico first – it was the Clintons that killed our manufacturing. Between Hillary’s deals with the major pharmas that killed the generics on the island, and the big screw up by Bill – we have been in massive decline since. The Clinton administration made a shortsighted decision to increase revenue intended to reduce the federal deficit by proposing elimination of Section 936 of the Internal Revenue Code, which gave mainland U.S. companies an exemption from federal taxes on income earned in Puerto Rico.
Section 936 actually came into effect in 1976 replacing a similar exemption, IRS Section 931, which prompted industrial growth driven by tax breaks for the manufacturing sector dating back to 1921.
The manufacturing sector, which primarily benefited from the tax break, accounted for 40 percent of the islands $34,000,000,000 in yearly gross product.
Companies had been able to pay livable wages and stay profitable while citizens enjoyed stable employment and drove the retail markets.
The Clinton plan also affected $16,000,000,000 in deposits that American companies kept in Puerto Rican banks. That money allowed banks to make loans to businesses and citizens at lower interest rates than they would get in the United States.
By March of 1993 the island was consumed in a movement to preserve the tax break which helped to usher in industrialization and stave off the poverty suffered by some of their neighbors in the Caribbean.
The local headlines were dominated by the subject, marches were organized and “I Support Section 936” bumper stickers were prevalent as well.
Despite the best efforts of the citizens to halt the Clinton Administration, the tax benefit was eliminated.
The advantageous position enjoyed by Puerto Rico was eliminated instantaneously dealing a crushing blow to the Puerto Rican economy.
Most industries disappeared immediately with some pharmaceutical and electronic manufacturing remaining in small pockets.
It was a death knell to the job market on the island which had so heavily depended on it.
The stated intention of eliminating the exemption was to reduce the federal deficit. Out of the 23 subsequent yearly budgets since Puerto Rico was consumed with the fight to save Section 936, the federal budget ran a deficit 19 times.

I DON’T FOLLOW THE LOGIC. THE ELECTION IS TOMORROW. ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT A COUPLE OF MILLION ISLANDER PR’S ARE WAITING IN THE TERMINALS RIGHT NOW WAITING TO BOARD ANY VESSEL ( INCLUDING LA LANCHA DE CATANO..) THAT WILL TAKE THEM TO THE MAINLAND TO VOTE THE VERY NEXT DAY? YOU ARE ALSO INSINUATING THAT THOSE SAME PR’S WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH TO CAST THEIR VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT? A DEMOCRAT THAT DOESN’T GIVE A CRAP. DOESN’T GIVE A CRAP ON SIMILAR PAR AS THE REPUBLICANS. HOWEVER, ONE WOULD THINK THAT IF SUCH A DRASTIC MEASURE WAS TO PLACE PRIOR TO THE ELECTION IN 2020, THAT THE ISLANDER PR’S, AND HOPEFULLY MOST PR’S AND OTHER LATINOS ( WHOM HAVE BEEN PAYING ATTENTION AND “GETTING IT ” ) WOULD CAST THEIR VOTE FOR AN ALTERNATIVE PARTY; SUCH AS THE GREEN OR INDEPENDENT PARTY. WHY? THE LATINO DIASPORA HAS GOTTEN LARGE ENOUGH, THAT IF THEY COOPERATE, THEY COULD ACTUALLY PULL IT OFF. IT WOULD BENEFIT THEM. THIS COUNTRY, AND THE ENTIRE PLANET IN PROFOUND WAYS. IF THE PLANET’S STILL AROUND BY THEN.

Great Article Nelson. People need to wake up and realize they are being used. Puerto Rican’s have been exploited for decades and now in this election more than ever. The Puerto Rican politicians ought to be ashamed of themselves as well. If they had half of back bone they could of partially prevented the economic meltdown on the island. At this point I don’t think Puerto Rico has any other choice but to become the 51st state. Then maybe they could file for bankruptcy and get the assistance they so desperately need.

Please Boricuas there are people writing books left and write with their own reality, which does not necessarily make it a fact. Don’t believe everything you read or hear. Please RE-SEARCH, RE-SEARCH, RE-SEARCH with reliable resources. During this Presidential campaign there has been many different kinds of resources on information on Hillary, based on trickery, deception, altering the truth and so on and so on.. If you truly do your homework you will know Hillary is the only one fit for the next President of the U.S.A. BORICUAS VOTE BLUE! GOD HELP THE U.S.A. and GOD HELP PUERTO RICO.

You Dude, Are showing your Colors and are a Trumplodite. Trump has a history of Business failures Cheating Workers for Work Done (He’d Probably do the same here to our Youth and People), Abandoning Business Deals, Evading Taxes “Owed” to Mexico, And Probably more to the USA by hiding Money in that Tax Evader “Panama Network”, that his friend Putin of Russia is involved with also. I guess friends were helping friends. He has a Rich “Pedophile” Friend who provided girls not yet in their Teens for Sex to “Members” of his Group of Rich People. You want that type of Person here on the Island? No Dude like that “Scum Bag” stay away from Our Island — Let him live in that Building with his name, “Trump Palace”.
In Response to “Our Debt” Problem. It is More a Plan by those, “Wishing”, to make Puerto Rico a State! By making “Living Here” so Economically Stressful and for Some , Logically, Geographically Unlivable, that Moving (Exile) is the Only Option. Many Ricans would Leave for “Better Economic” Conditions to the USA. This would provide those with “Statehood Delusions” to buy Land at cheap prices to then sell at high prices to those “Who Believe in Statehood” rather than Independence. Those Ricans will Learn that the USA has a “Kettle” of Racism in it’s Socialism that has “Come Out of the Closet”. That Racism will follow if ever Puerto Rico becomes a State. Boricuas should “Remember, Remember, the Thoughts that are Gendered” by the Words of Hawaiians “Who Have “Regretted” becoming a State. I hope that those “First Peoples” of America now Standing Up for Their Indigenous Rights” from the Standing Rock Reservation in Protecting their Water Rights and Sacred Places are able to “Get Justice” from the United Nations, Since the America some “Statehooders” hope to become a Part of, Has “Broken Every Treaty” with these Our Cousins the Lakota Sioux. Who’d want to become a Part of Peoples who think other People are Savages, or Slaves, or Whatever. When the US Supreme Court has Members of “All it’s Peoples (Male and Female)” (Asians, Hispanics, Native American, Etc) then Maybe one could think about becoming a Part of that. (Sotomayor (Boricua) was surprising to me, But it was a “Good Move”, A One Race Supreme Court Is Never good, But it use to be that way.
Look at Israel, It gets $40 Billion “Free” from the USA — No US State or territory can get that “Free” Money! How is Israel able to do so? And Not just Israel, But other Countries get “Foreign Aide Welfare” from a Country with $20 Plus Trillion Debt (US)? How is that Possible?? Think how easy Israel can secure her Existence by “Becoming a State”?? Why doesn’t she do it. Why don’t other weaker Nations, Ask to become Part of an Idea called\, The United State?? If other Peoples in Other Nations don’t want to become Members of the US, Why Should Boricuas? The Street says Boricuas are “Incapable” and “Uneducated” to “Be a Nation” on their own Terms and Puerto Rico should be like Native American Reservations. Contain People but don’t treat them as if they were Citizens, Cause their Not. Wasn’t it during the Spanish American War that Americans though Boricuas were “Cannibals”? If Americans “don’t” Respect the Native Americans, What makes anybody think Americans will Respect Boricuas??
I Remember Vieques, And it was the Clintons that gave it back to Us! Remember, Remember, That “Actions” Always Speak Greater Than Words”! I’m an Independent, But I get along with “Common Wealth”! Weepa!

Can Hillary be president from a prison cell?
Or from in front of a firing squad?
Or from the MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR mansion she recently purchased in the Maldives Island in the Indian Ocean (which just “happens” to have a “NON-EXTRADITION” Treaty with the US)?
And then she is supported by this classy guy:

Voting “reluctantly”? Seriously?
Did you mean “repulsively” perhaps?
Or maybe “regrettably”?
She couldn’t find Puerto Rico on a map without a GPS in her bullet-proof limousine.
She keeps confusing it with Pago Pago and Papeete, French Polynesia.
C’mon…let’s try to be more creative than this.
At least Trump will build more casinos and hotels and bring more dancers from NYC to perform our native dance…the Hula-Hula!
“Reluctantly”? Really?
A panting hyena in heat is more “reluctant”.
