La Borinqueña
Puerto Rico has a new superhero. Her name is La Borinqueña.
The brainchild of Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, and personified by attorney/activist Stephanie Martin Llanes, La Borinqueña is a new comic book series that will launch in December 2016. But the series has already drawn media attention…including NBC News, the Washington Post, New York Times, New York Daily News, Vibe, and Fox News Latino.
La Borinqueña can fly.
She has powers over the wind and the sea. She is also dedicated to protecting Puerto Rico, from anyone who would abuse her.
As a superhero (or super heroine) it will be fascinating to see how La Borinqueña deals with the Financial Control Board, John Paulson, Nicholas Prouty, toxic sludge oil at PREPA, solid waste incinerators in Arecibo, Monsanto seed programs, the Martin Peña Channel, the Zika virus, drug dealers, crooked cops, corrupt politicians, 78 mayors, and a $4.25 minimum wage.
Maybe La Borinqueña could lead a national movement – in Puerto Rico and the U.S. – against the Jones Act of 1920.
One thing is sure… La Borinqueña will arrive at the right time, and the right place. Because in 2017, there will be many evildoers in Puerto Rico.

A real BAD use os the name . “La Borinqueña” Since that is the NAME OF a DANZA that the gorvernment turn into the “Official Song” or what Independentistas call Hymn of Puerto Rico
I see that under Category above you have “Financial Control Board” . .WOW for been a lawyer yu sure show that you can not even translate into a Spanish a simple name as “PROMESA” In the PROMESA NAME THERE IS NO “CONTROL”. What you have is “OVERSIGHT” and the RIGHT translation is SUPERVISION. In other words What you call the Financial CONTROL Board in REALITY is the FINANCIAL SUPERVISORY BOARD. You surprise me Nelson, but of your idea is to make THING WORSE that they are to BLAME THE US GOVERNMENT. .
