The message of Maria de Lourdes Santiago Negrón, candidate for Governor of Puerto Rico
María de Lourdes Santiago Negrón is a lawyer, journalist, and two-term Senator in the Puerto Rican legislature. The Vice-President of the Independence Party (PIP) since 2001, she is now their candidate for Governor of Puerto Rico.
And she has one message for Puerto Rico.

There are thousands of photos of Maria de Lourdes – speaking to stadiums full of people, advocating for children in the Senate, fighting for the independence of Puerto Rico – but this photo is the most revealing:

The senator cares about the type of Puerto Rico that she will leave for her child José Julian, and for all the island’s children.
She knows that retired workers should not lose their pensions to a US vulture fund.
She knows that the young people in El Campamento deserve a dignified future, with real work and real opportunities.

For that reason, and for many years, Maria de Lourdes has delivered one powerful message: that Puerto Rico, like every nation on earth, needs to be free.

The people are hungry for new and honest solutions…not the same political fraud that has brought the island to its knees.

I had the honor and priviledge of going to school with her in Adjuntas PR. I can not put into words the greatness that is Maria. As a student, she was in a league of her own. Trust me when i say she would go deep and thorough whenever we had oral reports or presentations, leaving teachers shocked and awed!. Never ever remotely did she seem to think herself above the rest, everyone liked her, (except some of the alfa dogs, but they would not debate, it was hilarious). If you haven’t spoken to her, the deep into your eyes, 100% concentrated stare will impress many and intimidate liars. This, my friend is human greatness.
