What I learned from lesson one is this so called Financial Control Board will be in Puerto Rico specifically as opportunists, looking in every crevice of the island, seeking in every possible way on how to exploit and profit from the misfortunes of a people. Also I have learned that if the people don’t go along with it they will be arrested and treated as criminals. Which leads me to believe Jim Crow laws are being used in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is classified as american citizens yet everything that I have read about the relations of Puerto Rico and the United States since 1898 Puerto Rico is constantly treated as an inferior state. My conclusion is racism is alive and rotten to the core in the United States.
