Welcome to Puerto Rico: where everyone is a sucker, and the US government treats every man and woman – regardless of age and education – like a five-year old idiot.
The lies from El Norte pour down every day.
A whopper will come from the Federal Reserve Bank on August 8.
A HISTORY OF LIES
Then within a few years, the US owned 80% of Puerto Rico’s farm land…plus all its banks, railroads, public utilities, steamship lines, and the San Juan international seaport.
Then one month later, 18,000 Puerto Ricans were drafted into World War I.
From 1917 until 1976, Puerto Ricans were denied the federal minimum wage.
In 1948, the Ley de la Mordaza eliminated the first amendment.
From 1936 to 1992, over 100,000 “U.S. citizens” had secret FBI files opened on them.
To this very day, Puerto Ricans “citizens” cannot vote for congressmen, senators, or the president of the US.
In that same year of 1948, totalitarianism was alive and well in Puerto Rico…with a Gag Law (La Ley de la Mordaza) that made it a felony to sing a patriotic song or utter one word against the US, or in favor of Puerto Rican independence. Under this law, the ownership of a Puerto Rican flag was also a felony, punishable by ten years imprisonment.
To make sure this Gag Law was enforced, the FBI spied on the entire island. The FBI agents bullied, threatened and manipulated people in every town. They whipped together a network of informants…and produced FBI files on over 100,000 Puerto Ricans.
Then in 2016, the President and the Supreme Court of the United States, both declared that Puerto Rico is a “territorial possession” of the U.S., with no political or economic sovereignty whatsoever.
Then in February 2014, after Puerto Rico had done all of this (taxes, pensions, firings) the Wall Street rating services all downgraded Puerto Rico to “Junk Bond” status anyway.
In September of this same year, a Financial Control Board will take over the economy and government of Puerto Rico, in order to ensure the profits of several dozen US hedge funds and Wall Street investment houses.
The PROMESA legislation also recommends a minimum wage of $4.25 as an “economic benefit” to Puerto Ricans.
But for nearly a century, and continuing to this day, the US federal government has strangled the entire insular economy through the Jones Act (Sec. 27 of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920).
In addition, it was US federal monetary policy which maimed Puerto Rico in the first place…way back in 1900…when it de-valued the island’s currency by 40%.
THE LIES KEEP COMING…GEORGE ORWELL IN 2016
In keeping with this history, the US has done all of the following in 2016:
The sale of Puerto Rican bodily organs…yes, it has gotten that low.
HOLD YOUR NOSE, HEAR MORE LIES
Let’s put it very simply…
If the US wants to “help” Puerto Rico, perhaps they should stop lying to her.
If the US wants to “restore” the economy of Puerto Rico, they can withdraw the Jones Act which is strangling her.
For 96 years, they have refused to do this.
However, if you wish to hold your nose – and listen to the Federal Reserve about “restoring” Puerto Rico – here is the link to their blog:

It is time to meet individually with various members of Congress and find out how they can begin to actually help the individual residents and families of the island (and I don’t mean give them welfare and government hand-outs) but help Puerto Rico like the state of Israel was helped when it was formed. What the US gov’t is doing to Puerto Rico is criminal. So I conclude that Ronald Reagan’s statement is truthful: “Government is not the solution. It is part of the problem.” Best wishes and pray about this.
WE HAVE HAD, AND STILL HAVE CONGRESSMAN WHOM ARE PR SUPPOSEDLY ARGUING FOR THE PR CAUSE, IN ADDITION TO THEIR DISTRICT CONSTITUENTS. THEY’VE BEEN THERE FOR DECADES NOW. WHAT ARE THESE CONGRESSMEN GOING TO DO NOW THAT NEEDED TO HAVE BEEN DONE LONG AGO? DON’T YOU THINK THAT ANY OF THEM SAW THIS COMING BEFORE YOU DID? THE FORCES IN PLAY ARE APPARENTLY “PREVENTING” THESE CONGRESSMEN FROM TAKING THE ACTION NECESSARY TO HAVE MITIGATED WHAT YOU ARE WITNESSING RIGHT NOW. MEANING, IF THEY REALLY CARED, AS DEEPLY AS THEY SHOULD FOR THEIR ISLANDER COUNTERPARTS…THEY WOULD HAVE DONE SO BY NOW. WELFARE AND GOVT. HANDOUTS HAVE BEEN PURPOSEFULLY ENGINEERED TO KEEP THE PEOPLE DEPENDENT AND POWERLESS. THAT’S THE GENERAL IDEA. ALTHOUGH THEY ( ISLANDER PR’S ) ARE INDEED A PEOPLE…HUMAN BEINGS LIKE ANYBODY ELSE.. I THINK THAT THAT THE ISLANDERS HAVE BEEN USED AS A PROXY FOR THE U.S. ELITES ( D.C. AND THEIR INSIDE CORPORATE NETWORK ) TO SUBSIDIZE/FUND/BAIL-OUT THEIR PRIVATE VENTURES WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT. MEANING, IT’S QUITE CLEAR THAT THE SMALL POPULATION OF THE ISLAND WOULD NEVER EVER BE ABLE TO PAY BACK ANY KIND OF OUTRAGEOUS DEBT THAT THEY MAY HAVE BEEN TRICKED INTO. BUT, GUESS WHOM EVENTUALLY IS GOING TO PAY IT? U.S. MAINLAND CITIZEN TAX DOLLARS. THOSE TAX DOLLARS ARE ALWAYS THERE. IT’S NO DIFFERENT THAN THE ILLEGAL BAIL-OUTS YOU’VE EXPERIENCED HERE IN THE U.S. IT’S JUST THAT NOBODY HERE IN THE U.S. REALLY HAS KNOWN ABOUT IT. THIS WAS A PRIME MOTIVATOR IN TAKING PR AS A COLONY IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT’S BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG, LONG TIME..BUT, SHHHHHH, DON’T TELL ANYONE. IT’S OUR SECRET. BETWEEN ME, YOU, THE D.C. ELITES AND THEIR OPPORTUNISTIC CORPORATE F**KS. THAT’S WHY THE GENERAL PUBLIC HAS NO REAL REFERENCE TO/IDEA ABOUT PR. THEY WERE NEVER TAUGHT ANYTHING ABOUT IT. AND SO, THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS IGNORANT TO ALL OF THIS AND DOESN’T REALLY CARE. WHERE THEY WOULD CARE, AND CARE A LOT, IS IF THEY CAUGHT WIND OF THE LIKELIHOOD THAT IT’S THEIR TAX DOLLARS THAT HAVE BEEN LINING PRIVATE INTERESTS POCKETS, FOR NO REAL WORK AT ALL. IN FACT, IT COULD PROBABLY BE DEFINED AS STEALING FROM THE U.S. TREASURY. BUT, WHEN THIS KIND OF ACTIVITY IS BEING FACILITATED BY THE FED’S THEMSELVES…… WHO’S GOING TO QUESTION/CHALLENGE IT?
WE HAVE AN ABSOLUTE DEARTH OF WHAT THE REAL AND INTENDED MEANING IS OF LEADERSHIP IN THIS COUNTRY. IT’S ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. AND THOSE THAT DO ATTEMPT TO LEAD, BASED ON THE TRUE DEF., OF WHAT LEADERSHIP IS ABOUT, YOU ARE LIKELY TO MEET WITH A TON OF RESISTANCE. IT’S NOT JUST THE PR QUESTION. IT’S EVERYWHERE. IT’S ALMOST JUST AS BAD ON THE MAINLAND. THE DIFFERENCE IS, YOU DO HAVE SOME CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTIONS HERE…
ISRAEL AND PR ARE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ANIMALS. THE U.S. DIDN’T COLONIZE ISRAEL, NOW DID IT? IT HAD ALWAYS BEEN THE U.S.’s INTENTION TO COLONIZE AND MAINTAIN THE COLONY IN P.R. THERE WAS A LOT OF SHENANIGAN MONEY TO BE MADE. WITH ALL THAT’S GOING ON ON THE ISLAND NOW, DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT YOUR SUGGESTION IS GOING TO MERIT ANY ATTENTION IN D.C? I THINK YOU’RE LATE TO THE PARTY. BUT, THE THOUGHTS’ GOOD. THESE PEOPLE ( THE ELITES & Co. ) ARE GOING IN FOR THE KILL NOW. THEY’VE BEEN BUILDING UP TO THIS POINT FOR 118 YRS. MEANING THEY’VE GOT THE ISLAND RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT IT. IF ANYTHING, PR HAS A LOT MORE IN COMMON WITH PALESTINE. EG: U.S. IS TO P.R. AS ISRAEL IS TO PALESTINE. SAME THING THERE.
THE BOTTOM LINE TO ALL THIS, IS THAT A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF PEOPLE, WHOM HAVE A LOT OF WEALTH AND ARE WELL CONNECTED WANT SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE HEAVY LIFTING FOR THEM….OR EVEN MODERATE LIFTING. ALL FOR NO EFFORT ON THEIR PART. MEANING, THESE PEOPLE DON’T LIKE THE IDEA OF REAL WORK…WORKING WITH ONE’S HANDS. THEY’RE SLOTHFUL. FURTHER, THEY WANT IT FOR FREE. BUT, IT’S NEVER FREE. SOMEONE’S DOING A DISPROPORTIONAL AMOUNT OF THE LABOR. AND THE WAY YOU GET THERE, IS BY DISADVANTAGING ENOUGH PEOPLE BY ANY MEANS. THE SAME ELITES CONVINCE THE VAST MAJORITY OF US THAT THIS IS A GOOD IDEA, AND THAT SOME OF THESE ILL GOTTEN “TRAPPINGS ” WILL TRICKLE DOWN TO YOU TOO.
I THINK YOUR STATEMENT RE; REAGAN’S COMMENT ABOUT GOVT. IS SHORT SIGHTED. IT’S NOT THAT EITHER GOVT. OR CORPORATIONS OF THE PEOPLE ARE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS HOW THEY ARE BEING USED, AND ALLOWING THEMSELVES TO BE USED. GOVT. IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN EQUALIZING FUNCTION IN THIS SO CALLED DEMOCRACY. IT’S ORIGINAL INTENTION WAS JUST THAT. IT’S THE WAY THAT THIS GOVT. HAS FAILED TO FUNCTION OVER TIME. GOVT. INSTEAD OF BEING AN IMPARTIAL REFEREE/UMPIRE, HAS ALLOWED ITSELF TO BECOME ALMOST ENTIRELY CORRUPTED BY SOME POWERFUL CORPORATIONS AND OTHER SPECIAL INTERESTS. AND THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN EXPENSED BY IT ALL, ARE THE COMMON FOLK. THE 99.5%. WHAT I THINK WHAT REGAN WAS ARGUING FOR, IS WHAT YOU’RE SEEING PLAYING OUT BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES RIGHT NOW. MEANING, YOU AND I ESSENTIALLY HAVE NO VOICE AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL ANYMORE.

PROMESA=Coup d’etat
History is repeating itself. With the passage of the PROMESA Bill, the United States is back to governing Puerto Rico as she once did under the Jones Act of 1917. The President of the United States “will chose” the members of the Financial Control Board, of which a Chairman will be at “the head” of the “Board/Junta”. This Junta will wield absolute power over Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans will continue electing the island’s legislative branch, which will handle meaningless local affairs, while “The Board/Junta” is managing (or “hand”ling) Puerto Rico’s money, “land,” and infrastructure…..SMH…,History is extremely important. It tends to always repeat itself, so the further one can reach back into their repository of history, the quicker one can identify that menace, and the sooner one can confront that looming menace. The Taino’s understood the significance of history. The “bohite” (a high priest and herbal doctor), was “closely linked,” politically and socially, to the Cacique. Among one the bohite’s duties was to “conserve (to guard and preserve)” the “tribal history” and “recount” the Taino’s history in the form of the “areyto.” The bohite and Tainos sang the “areyto” for sheer pleasure or for joyous public occasions such as a victory over the Caribs, the advent of a new cacique, births and weddings of important people, as well as calls to battle, defeats and deaths. As an incitement to war, the “areyto” was sung where the “prowess of the ancestors” was narrated. Yes, even our ancestors, the Taino, “understood” the importance of “preserving and knowing” their history. One can’t apply or be guided by wisdom when there is no “accumulated knowledge” available to draw from.
Peace🙏🏾

To Pay A National Debt – To Puerto Rico
OSCAR LÓPEZ-RIVERA MUST BE SET FREE IMMEDIATELY!
Para Mí Pueblo Puertorriqueño
by Jesús Papoleto Meléndez
TO BEGIN to eradicate the massive money debt
That’s larger than the population of Coquís globally
– that’s owed Puerto Rico
by the United States
in the Americas –
Our Brother Nuestro,
Oscar López-Rivera
debería Be Set Free Immediately
from the penitentiary that incarcerates Him
, like Jesús Cristo
– Illegally!!!
For it is THEY –
The United States in the Americas
– & NOT HE,
Oscar López-Rivera
Who are guilty of the most heinous Crimes Against Humanity
as is proved by the slavery of Puerto Rico
as the last recognized colony in modern history:
The acculturation of our Island Nation
into an assimilation of Cultural Self-Hatred –
A family fractured into disunity,
Displaced from Native lands into Public Housing Projects
From Bosques to Barrios, Finqueros to Homelessness
While each day we bury more elders, turned ancestors
Transitioning to Saints of our Diaspora.
The Gentrifying Dawn Rises over El Barrio mío…
foreboding in shadows stretching from East Harlem, south to
Loisaida; to La Perla; to la Boca de Cangrejos en Ponce…
As the young Entrepreneurial Millennial conga-despising Interlopers emerge
in El Barrio from subway tunnels at 110th Street & Lexington Avenue,
Looking for “SpaHa!” Now walking around the community dragging
airport luggage carriers, seeking to decipher the address scribbled on a piece of paper;
The new-sublet apartments, “AirBnB in El Barrio,” while
Disappearing Botánicas – like missing teeth from a mouth dying of decay –
& Bodegas going out of business, turned Ultra-super Supermarkets,
selling Coladores for Bustelo Café,
& Universal Product Coded-labled Votive Candles, while Santeros
bagging groceries for chump change, go looking for Temp-work outside
their fields of expertisé!
The Profit Culture-Vulture Venture Capitalists,
The Carpet Baggers of Robber-Baron Hedge Fund Trusts
Who Promised to be trusted, and came instead
To steal in the bright Daylight,
And steal away in the dark, broad Night –
Feeling the Right for the Might of the United States
in the America’s Banking Laws –
replete with legal flaws designed to defraud the poor,
Evinces a design to colonize through humiliation,
Allowing for the experimentation of forced sterilization
upon our Puerto Rican women without their knowledge
much less their consent, while their brothers, cousins
and husbands were sent off to go fight & die
in the rice fields of Viet Nam,
Where Brother Oscar López-Rivera had to survive –
And did!
And came home having been awarded the Bronze Star for Bravery
in a war that opened up his eyes to what Americans Fight For
In the name of the Freedom they so freely adore,
While their Allies & Navies cowardly dropped Bombs
upon our baby islands Vieques y Culebras –
¡Y Que!
Where now radioactive beachfront condominiums & bungalows
are being sold to the sons of bitches & daughters of the newly riché,
Who Bill the exploited on Our Madre Isla for the cost incurred
for the exploitation of the Nation we no longer own!
Hypocrisy, being the Mother & Father of all Sin,
Is opposed by Righteousness, its opposite, in its own righteous skin –
That despises Injustice, Prejudice & Racism,
for preventing the Human Spirit to sing!
My Boricua Soul cries out in anguish! –
Diametrically opposed in English & in Spanish
to being juxtaposed between a cultural complexity
in this concrete city, and a tropical repose that contradicts
the imposition of an imposturous Democracy –
Killing our People through a program of atrocious attrition
While you, Oscar López-Rivera, a Patriot, are imprisoned for Sedition –
Paying the price of Freedom, as it so very often demands
the loss of one’s Liberty!
I, for one, among others, have presented Poetry inside of prison walls –
And I will tell you as a witness, as walls hear & do Tell All:
There, you will find the most beautiful minds of our kind, locked up
in 6×8-foot cells; 3-walls, a ceiling & floor, prison-bars for a door –
For committing a crime in a criminal society that steals
the best of our progeny for petty-larceny, turned into
Indentured Servitude for the Corporate State Full of Hate.
Oh, Yes!
I’ve seen the best minds of Our Generations’
– Incarceration!
That’s why Oscar López-Rivera Must Be Set Free –
Because you’re the example of the Puerto Rican brother-Man, Sir
that we need walking around replenishing our community.
You are an authentic brother – as True as a Poet, and
Censored likewise – For being a Wise Guy in a Smart-Aleck world –
Living or dead – uncompromisingly dedicated to The Truth being told.
We hold you up as our Self-Esteem, a pillar of the Integrity
of the Soul’s Sovereignty –
In your Strength, we finally find Unity
Because you’ve made a sacrifice of the Most Supreme –
To give your Life-blood in pursuit of The Puerto Rican Dream – Liberty!
Which is why You Must Be Freed!
Despite our People’s suffering a Game of Porcelain Thrones
Perpetuated by Columbus-syndrome’d Machiavellian Progressive-
Digressive-PoliTricksters amongst Us,
Who seek your liberty for the sake of their celebrity –
To augment the pretention of their legacy,
As if a Fee for a Public Service rendered to the community –
You, Oscar López-Rivera, will be freed by the People’s Integrity!
What we need now is un Nuevo Movimiento Patrimonio
Para to save the histórico-artístico cultura de Puerto Rico
made by our artists con amor, por valor y sacrificio:
A Vanguard of Artists – Armed to the teeth!
Who’ve beaten their pens & paintbrushes into WEAPONS
OF MASS DESTRUCTION to retrieve our National & Natural Treasures
Before the “Artifacts for Sale” Fire-Sale of the history
of Puerto Rico and its People en el Caribe,
Puts an end to the proud legacy of Los Tainos –
Once and for all!
¡Ay! Mí Pueblo Puertorriqueño!
¡Ay! Mí Diaspora Nuyoricana!
¿AREN’T THEY WORTH FIGHTING FOR?
¿WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? –
¡FOR THEM TO TAKE AWAY OUR PLAYAS y PAIS!
¿FOR WHAT?
– To payback for being a Colony for 118 years!
Mí Gente –
If El Pueblo Nuestro needs Inspiration
To Start the prevention of our extermination,
To Save our culture from annihilation –
Then, Let the loss of our Artists’ labor,
The Movement of our GODS’ Hands in their work,
Be the worth we might come to value
as Puerto Rican, as is Life.
For, as Don Pedro Albizu Campos would like to say –
“To cualquir Fulano o Fulana de Tal – o Charlatán…”
WE REJECT YOUR CHAPTER 9,
and, influenced by Afro-Cuban Jazz,
WE GO STRAIGHT-AHEAD TO CHAPTER 10:
This is the Goddamned End!
It’s either – Revolution or Civil War!
Whichever one intends to restore our Dignity and Sovereignty!
To once again prove to the Imperialists of the World, that –
Although we are an island-nation,
We are, nevertheless, A Nation
of a proudly fierce and courageous people
Who will chuck a poisoned-spear right through your evil, greedy,
Conquistadores hearts!
For, If told be The Truth: In War –
It’s always “an Eye for an Eye, & a Tooth for a Tooth” –
Regardless of Who has The Truth on its side!
Believe it or not, Wars are fought in parking lots, & bus stops
& shopping malls, & baseball parks;
Terrorism is Economic-Sanctions imposed by the powerless, &
Freedom Fighters are as “Terroristic” as Founding Fathers!!!
For the mythology of your history is as bloody as
The Passion of Christ!
– for Christ’s Sake!
And, That is why
We must Free Oscar López-Rivera Now!
We Must Free this Brother!
Because –
as Life-blood running through our veins –
“Our Mother is the Same;
Her Name is Borinkén!”
