Why is Bernie Sanders in Puerto Rico?
One day before the Kentucky and Oregon primaries, Bernie Sanders is campaigning in Puerto Rico…but why?
If he’s trying to make a symbolic statement, then what is it?
So far he’s said nothing about the Jones Act, or John Paulson, or the billion dollar fraud at PREPA that has poisoned the air over Puerto Rico.

Oh, heavens! He’s a politician, for God’s sake! When do you know he’s telling a lie? In his case, when you see he’s awake!
He’s journeyed to Puerto Rico to do the same clambake every politician does: see how many rubes he can get to “vote” for him. It’s only a day lost; may as well see the colonial slaves and throw some candy.
There is need of mental and spiritual growth in the Island. Sadly, the greater majority of my peers prefer “bread and circuses” over personal responsibility and toil. We’re living in the Tragedy of the Commons and the Disutility of Labor. Our great-grandparents lived through the invasion; the prior generation lived through the toil and “benevolent colonialism”.
Man, what a dream: to wake my age cohort into accepting responsibility for building a future of affluence, productivity, and honor.

I among many Puerto Ricans believe and understand that the Jones Act is a law by the the United States which keeps Puerto Rico and it’s people oppressed and is a law that benefits the interests of the United States businesses and government alone and must be put on the chopping block.
I don’t believe that if Bernie Sanders ( the only candidate which has a clear understanding and has voice Pro Puerto Rico views to date). Was to mention the Jones Act at this juncture in his campaign would make a positive outcome in his bid for the presidency of the United States at this point in his campaign..
I believe that the only candidate addressing the current needs of Puerto Rico is Bernie Sanders. The only candidate that is putting himself out there for Puerto Rico is Mr.Sanders. Now how can he mention the Jones Act at this juncture when he has touched on all the issues that are affecting Puerto Rico and it’s people by mentions of hospital closings, school closings, the CDC and the Zika Virus, the United States unreasonable tarrifs, and the hedge fund managers and investors payments versus the wellbeing of the island.
He has denounced many of the current policies in place that the United States stands by. I see no other candidates willing to even mention all of these issues in their campaigns. Mr.Sanders in my opinion is the only candidate worth hearing and supporting not only for his views on Puerto Rico and how to manage a debt crisis and an island that can prosper but also a country that can prosper as well.
I guess I don’t have to tell you.who I believe is qualified to lead the United States for the next four years, His name again is Bernie Sanders for president for the United States.

We need to find a way to get the total facts about the legal trade embargo the US has on Puerto Rico with the Jones act.

Please don’t embarrass yourself.
I support you and have even donated to your campaign several times.
But PLEASE don’t join the shameless parade of US Mainland political hacks who come to Puerto Rico to campaign.
We haven’t been allowed to vote in a US Presidential election ever!
And that is over a CENTURY at this point!
However, during that same period,we have died, been blown-up or just crippled and maimed in UNITED STATES military uniforms in WW1, WW2, Korean War, Vietnam War, Iraq War and every other American-initiated oil-grab in the Middle East!
Coming to Puerto Rico to campaign is s like going to the humane society to lecture the dogs on death row on the merits of Korean recipes for dog-meat-filled egg-rolls.
Come to let us know how YOU would help us to resolve our horrific debt-crisis which Wall Street was complicit in creating with our corrupt politicians.
AND come to tell us what you would do to help us resolve our undeniable and dismal COLONIAL status.
Or just don’t come at all.
We are not just another motley crowd of US Mainland generic “La Tino” idiots who want to continue the flood of illegals into the mainland or just want more free salsa at Taco Bell. And “no” our national dance is NOT “La Cucaracha”, either. Hillary already shared that “La Tino” insight with us.
