Donald Trump to Puerto Rico: Drop Dead

Book - 12-10

On May 4, 2016, in a CNN interview with Wolf Blitzer, Donald Trump gave his first official statement regarding Puerto Rico.

When asked what he’d do for the island, he offered no solutions to its economic chaos. Trump’s long convoluted answer had only one clear theme: “I would not bail them out.”

Here is the video of Donald Trump’s interview with Wolf Blitzer, regarding Puerto Rico:

In responding to Wolf Blitzer, Trump displayed his usual narcissism:

“Many of the top people, people in my category, would use the [bankruptcy] laws,” said Trump.

But then apparently, for Trump, the people of Puerto Rico are not the “top people” and they are not “in his category.”

According to Trump the people of Puerto Rico “have too much debt…so no, I would not bail them out.”

However, in his usual fashion, Donald Trump gave a different view to Fox News. Trump told Fox that the Puerto Rico bondholders should “take a hit.”

THE REAL DONALD TRUMP

Donald Trump has been very successful at talking all over the map. He has flip-flopped on issues in the same week, on the same day, and sometimes even during the same interview.

But the island is in an immediate and severe economic crisis. There is no time for double-talk. We need to know as soon as possible, exactly what is Trump’s position.

With respect to Puerto Rico, will the real Donald Trump please stand up?

  7. spoiler alert PR loves our military but doesn’t pay taxes to us. I agree with this policy why bail out anywhere that dose not contribute finically to us. And it’s not at all about race why would you expect to receive money from a place you never gave money.

You need to learn about the Jones Act (Sec. 27 of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920), the 40% devaluation of the island’s currency in 1900, the denial of a minimum wage for three decades, the US appropriation of 80% of the island’s farmland, and the proliferation of P3s throughout the island…before you can lecture anyone in Puerto Rico about “receiving money from a place to which you never gave money.”

  8. It is not Puerto Rico that is getting bailed out. It is Wall Street.
I like his position since it will not hurt the people in Puerto Rico
in general but instead it will only hurt the greedy money lenders.

  9. IF YOU THINK PUERTO RICANS ARE SUFFERING OVER THIS ECONOMIC DETERIORATION AND ONGOING MIGRATION INTERNATIONALLY, YOU’RE MISTAKEN! I LIVE HERE AND CAN CONFIRM TH!S COMMENT. YOU CAN HIT THESE PEOPLE OVER THE HEAD WITH A HAMMER AND THEY WILL NOT REACT! SAME SITUATION WHEN THE GOVERNMENT RAISED THE GASOLINE PRICES SEVERAL TIMES, RAISED THE SALES TAX (IVU) FROM 7% TO 11.5% WITH AN ADDITIONAL 3% HIDDEN UNDER THE CARPET. PRESIDENT OBAMA DESIGNATED A 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS AFTER THE PEOPLE FAVORED THE “PLEBICITO” IN SUPPORT OF STATEHOOD TO GENERATE PUBLIC HEARINGS TO LEARN WHAT THE ITIZENS OF PUERTO RICO WANTED TO SEE IN THE NEW REFERENDUM TO NO AVAIL! PADILLA, APPEARED ON TELEVISION ALLOCATING THE FUNDS TO TE FORMER GOVERNOR OF PR, WHO IS NOW A CONSULTANT AND THEY BOTH GRIND AND LAUGHTED AS IF SAYING WE’LL DIVIDE THESE FUNDS AMONG US, LETS WAITE A WHILE AND PROLONG THE SITUATION SO THT THE PUBLIC WILL FORGET ABOUT ITS ALLOCATION! TO DATE THE PEOPLE HAVE NOT COMPLAINT! SO YOU TELL ME, WHAT’S THE SENSE. PRESENTLY THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 1.5 MILLION PUERTO RICAN CITIZENS MIGRATING OVERSEAS. THERE ARE OVER 1.0 MILLION DOMINICANS RESIDING IN THE ISLANDS AND OVER 21% ENTERING THE ISLAND YEARLY! IF THIS IS ALLOWED TO PROCEED (CONTINUE), SOON THESE IMMIGRANTS ARE GOING TO TAKE OVER THE ISLAND, JUST AS THEY DID IN NEW YORK CITY WHEN PUERTO RICANS, ALSO MIGRATED BACK TO THERE HOME LAND! FINALLY, IF THE PPD AND IMMIGRATION JOINTLY CONTINUE TO ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO BECOME US CITIZENS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OFTHE ENGLISH AND SPANISH LANGUAGE ALIKE, UNABLE TO EVEN SIGN THEIR NAMES WHEN IMMIGRATION IN PR PASSES AND ALLOWS THEM TO BECOME USA CITIZENS FROM ORDERS OF PADILLA AND THE “PARTIDO POPULAR DEMOCRATICO” (PPD) IN ORDER TO HAVE THEIR VOTES TO PREVENT STATEHOOD FOR PUERTO RICANS! WELL, PUT THIS IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT! “DISPIERTA BORICUA DEFIENDE LO TUYO”!

  13. Every country has a debt to the United States but to actually say another remark like that is utterly uncalled for. Puerto Rico is part of the United States and has been since they have been using the island as a military purpose and gain for the U.S so why not help where they are benefiting from. We have one of the largest import and export island that has benefited on both sides so for you to actually say NO for help, will greatly and with no problem respect or earn our vote.

  18. I read somewhere of a prophecy that the world would not see another inaugural of another President in the United States. I was alot Leary about this prophecy just as the others like the Y2K, Nostradamus, etc.
Yet as I see how this political insanity of the reublicans, Donald Trump, and HilaryHilary. The breakdowns of our economies. The way in which neighbors treat neigbors. Not to mention all the evil in the world, Issl and all of the destruction around the world.
All of this leads me to believe the breakdown of all order will cease and chaos will eventually ensue. God help us all.

  20. Why should PR be bailed-out? PR has the income and is choosing to pay for other items, ignoring their constitution which requires public debt be paid first and foremost. PR’s “ELA” system of governence is inherently corrupt.
Corrupt politicians from all parties promised “craddle to grave” entitlements at little to no cost to the people of Puerto Rico, paid for with borrowed funds. “ELA” chased away DoD, and has been hostiled to many past and present businesses. The very system is chasing away professionals. Crime and corruption is high, school/education is low, tourism is bleeding, leaving everything and everyone else on life-support. ¡BORICUAS para Trump 2016!

Maybe we can learn from him or is this just for first class citizens only not second ( Puerto Ricans ) class citizens. This colonial status is just not working. Puerto Rico has been held in bondage for 118 years it’s like having a step-parent who gives every thing to its flesh and blood and abuses their stepchild while no ones watching. Despierta Boricua!
