Today…April 21, 2016…is the 51st anniversary of the death of Pedro Albizu Campos

Book - 12-10

Fifty one years ago, Don Pedro Albizu Campos died in San Juan. The US and Gov. Luis Muñoz Marín had broken his body, but not his spirit.

Half a century later, all of Don Pedro’s warnings have come true. Puerto Rico is bankrupt and the US is sending a “Financial Control Board” to control and exploit the entire island. Here is a summary of Don Pedro’s life, complete with 36 photographs:

Don Pedro was the conscience of his people. They killed his body but forgot his voice – and it echoes across all borders, from one century to the next.

Don Pedro was a champion of freedom.

A prophet.

A piercing light.

A fallen soldier in the war against all Puerto Ricans.

  1. PLEASE, DON’T KID YOURSELVES. IT’S UNFORTUNET, BUT NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE KNOW WHO, DON PEDRO ALBIZU CAMPOS WAS AS A; HUMAN BEING, A CLOSE FRIEND, SCHOLAR, AN EDUCATOR, A PATRIAT, A STATEMEN AND A NATIONALIST! IT’S IRONIC, BUT BECAUSE ALBIZU CAMPOS HAD A SIX SENSE AND A FUTURISTIC PERCEPTION, AND A LACK OF TUNNEL VISION PUERTO RICANS ARE UNITED STATE CITIZENS, SINCE 1949. HE WAS THE ARCHITECT OF THE ESTADO LIBRE ASSOCIADO EDUCATING DON LUIS MUNCHOS MARIN CONCERNING THE POSITION HE NEEDED TO TAKE AND NEGOTIATE WITH THE USA ABOUT THE STATUS (CITIZENSHIP) FOR PUERTO RICANS! HE WITNESSED, WE HAD ENTERED THE 1950′ AND PUERTO RICANS WERE STILL LIVING IN DIPLORABLE CONDITIONS AS IF WE WERE STILL EXISTING IN THE 1930’S DURING THE DEPRESSION! SO JUST REMEMBER AND COMPREHEND, THAT DON PEDRO ALBIZU CAMPOS, CREATOR OF THE NATIONALIST PARTY WAS AND IS STILL IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN!…………..ARISTUDIOART.

    Gerardo,

Puerto Ricans became U.S. citizens in 1917 pursuant to the Jones Act…not in 1949.

Also, Pedro Albizu Campos was NOT the “architect of the Estado Libre Asociado.” He was fiercely opposed to it…so opposed, that he organized a Nationalist rebellion against it in October-November 1950.

  2. I just bougth the book and in the preface page alone; so far I can tell you that this book is an “EYE” opening for those that really want to know about their “Puertorrican History”. Not from the point of view of the USA.Government, neither the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, but thru the eyes of a simple human being that only wanted always to know the true about ‘Don Pedro Albizu Campos’.What made him change his mind while studying, working and in the” USA Army”as an Officer during World War I. I was in 3 year of high school when Don Pedro died; and always wonder how come the USA Government dont release the ‘authopsy’records of ‘El Maestro’,what are they so afraid of. I pray to GOD that before I died I’ll be able to read those record and finnally be able to know the thruth of his dead.

  5. This is something that should be taught in school. I asked my son who goes to high school here in Vega Alta if he had learned about Don Pedro Albizu and he said no. He was going to ask his history teacher today why not!

y, sonando, a tu estrella solitaria regresas.

Todo en ti se adelanto en bandera de nubes
desde Atlanta hasta el hombre que doquiera pelea.
Porque te fuiste, inmenso peleando libertades
    y peleando mundiales libertades regresas.

  7. Is it amazing or just Don Perdro’s way of letting all know that his death was not in vain.. For his repeated warnings and his vision was taken in the form of Americanismo and the infiltration of America’s tyrants like Luis Munoz Marin, Theodore Roosevelt, Hoover, PPD & PNP . The only way to continue is complete and total segragation from the yankee ownership

  8. I read “War Against All Puerto Ricans” by Nelson Dennis. While reading the book I cry like a baby then I was overcome by anger. As a Puerto Rican growing up in the seventies, I have read of some of the atrocities done to Don Pedro Albizu Campos, to other patriots, and to my people as a whole by the government of the U. S. A. I just didn’t know to which extend. The Senior citizens of Puerto Rico has always viewed Luis Muñoz Marin as their hero. If they only new how he sold them out, like a sack of grain to the United States for his own benefits.
