Boricua en la Luna was written by Juan Antonio Corretjer, and originally arranged and orchestrated by singer/songwriter Roy Brown during the mid 1990s.
The band Fiel a la Vega started covering it; here is a video of their performance:
The lyrics are very clear:
If your family is Puerto Rican, if your heritage is Puerto Rican, then you will always be Puerto Rican…even if you’re born on the moon.
Thank you to Juan Antonio Corretjer, Roy Brown and Fiel a la Vega.
Thank you to my friend, Julio Varela, for sending me the video.
¡Feliz año nuevo!
