The song was an instant hit in 1958.

Today, nearly sixty years later, the entire island of Puerto Rico is singing this song.

There is something special about this video.

It was performed by a boy named Jason Ortiz, who died in a tragic car accident, just a few months after the video.

His father posted the video, as a loving tribute to his son.

The boy died on April 21…the exact same date…that Pedro Albizu Campos died.
