José Feliciano was born permanently blind as a result of congenital glaucoma.
He was first exposed to music at the age of three – when he started to play on a tin cracker can, to accompany his uncle on the cuatro.
By the time he was nine, little José was playing his guitar at the Teatro Puerto Rico in The Bronx.
The little boy taught himself to play the guitar.
Despite his blindness.
Today, he is one of the most accomplished, versatile and dexterous guitarists in the world.
Being a guitarist myself, I admired Jose Feliciano since I heard play Light My Fire, a great song by the Doors. He took the song and made it his own. Great guitar virtuoso. How about a Bio on Puerto Rican actor, Luis Guzman?
