Historic photo of the day: Judas Iscariot

War Against All Puerto Ricans: Revolution and Terror in America’s Colony

All throughout history, men and women have betrayed each other.

It happens every day, all over the planet, and it always leaves a slight stench.

Mankind would have reached much higher, the world would be so much nobler, without this one miserable trait.

The following is not a photo: it is a painting of Judas Iscariot, hustling away from Golgotha and its crucifixes. He clutches thirty pieces of silver; he knows the price of everything and the value of nothing, and so he sells the whole world away.

Two thousand years later, we have hundreds of Judases – maybe thousands – who are selling off little pieces of Puerto Rico.

They’ve been doing it for decades.

Thanks to them, Puerto Rico is about to collapse into receivership: with a five-person Financial Control Board and P3s (public-private partnerships) controlling the water, electricity, bridges and tunnels, public transport, and airport concessions.

In other words, the hedge funds are about to swallow Puerto Rico in one savage gulp.

For this reason I often remind people: major un patriota en Nueva York, que un vendepatria en Puerto Rico.

  1. At least Judas Iscariot had the decency to end his own life…

  2. Must also add, that this makes my blood boil.
Because these artist, writer, poets etc where great people, with honest heart.
They wanted a free independent Puerto Rico and they suffer for it.
And what it’s ironic is that today they are famous in puerto rico. Their arts are in museums and their books are sold in bookstores and also are in El Instituto de Cultura de Puerto Rico.

  3. I am not a Historian.
But was acquainted with some of the writers, poets and artist of the time.
The ones I knew wanted Independence for Puerto Rico and they where NOT Communists. Socialist or Fascists.
They wanted FREEDOM! For their country. Independence!
Some of them had to leave Puerto Rico because of their political believes and could not find jobs.
They had a very hard time.

  5. I lived during the time that Luis Munoz Marin was governor and Albizus Campos was in jail, and never heard the word FASCIST associated with Albizus Campos.
Will like Mr. Luis Ferrao to show definite documents and concert proof of this.
Also does this mean that all the people, wishing to see an Independent Puerto Rico,
Where either Communist, Socialist Or Fascist?
So I guess you cannot want freedom unless you are either of those things!

  6. The PPD and PNP has been promising the people of Puerto Rico a great future and great prosperity. The only one who is having a great future and great prosperity is the political ladrón. Those two party’s are rotten to the core. Thanks to the hedge funds, and those two political parties, Puerto Rico is nailed to the cross. I can only pray for a resurrection.

Judas, many of them in Puerto Rico …. “Thanks to them, Puerto Rico is about to collapse into receivership: with a five-person Financial Control Board and P3s (public-private partnerships) controlling the water, electricity, bridges and tunnels, public transport, and airport concessions.”
