Since its publication date on April 7, 2015, War Against All Puerto Ricans has found a powerful audience. This week marks the third straight month that WAAPR has been a continuous #1 Amazon Best Seller, from the first day of its release. It also has a “Five Star” rating from 72 customer reviews.
The author, Nelson Denis, is especially proud of this readership. According to Denis, “this proves some simple facts to the publishing industry, and to America in general: that we exist. We buy books. We read. We are especially interested in our own heritage, and our own history.”
As noted in Publishers Weekly, the Borders bookstore in Plaza Las Americas (San Juan, PR) was the most profitable store in the entire Borders chain – more profitable than any of over 500 stores nationwide, with $17 million in annual revenue.
Clearly, someone is reading and buying books in Puerto Rico!
It is thus no surprise, that over 50% of all sales of War Against All Puerto Ricans are occurring in Puerto Rico – in other words, the island is buying more copies of the book, than all the rest of the United States (all fifty states) put together! This is especially striking, since nearly 80% of book sales in Puerto Rico are in Spanish…and War Against All Puerto Ricans was published in English.
The book is now being translated, for a wide release in late 2015.
History has not been kept from us, its just that many of us do not bother to research our history
