“War” book signing with Nelson Denis in New York City

War Against All Puerto Ricans: Revolution and Terror in America’s Colony

The War Against All Puerto Ricans continues in New York City. With complete disregard for their personal safety, three brave souls are hosting the controversial book that caused an uproar in Puerto Rico.

FBI agents will pay a special entry fee at each event, and will be prohibited from imbibing liquor. Everyone else will come in free.

The event schedule is as follows:.

Saturday June 6, 2-4 pm

PR Dream

1355 Park Avenue (corner of 102 St. & Park Avenue)

Sunday June 7, 3-4 pm

Mi Casa, Tu Casa

143 East 150 St. (in the Bronx, just off Grand Concourse, one block north of the “6” IRT subway stop)

Monday June 8, 6-9 pm

Camaradas

2241 First Avenue (115th Street & 1st Avenue, in East Harlem)

A book signing shall occur at all three events – but each event will have a different personality and emphasis.

PR Dream is a multi-media organization with a long history of promoting film, photography, painting, art installations, cyber murals, and even a film festival on a handball court wall in East Harlem! The PR Dream event will include a Powerpoint presentation of historical photographs that illustrate the people and events in War Against All Puerto Ricans. It will also feature an exciting documentary film about the Nationalist Party in Puerto Rico.

Mi Casa, Tu Casa is a relaxed, intimate setting near Hostos Community College in the Bronx. It is a bed & breakfast with five guest rooms, and an over 100-foot white pine tree in the backyard that is visible throughout the neighborhood. The book event at Tu Casa, Mi Casa will reflect their intimate setting– with discussion of the more personal stories of Don Pedro Albizu Campos, Luis Muñoz Marín, and the barber Vidal Santiago Díaz.

Camaradas is the “Cheers” of El Barrio: a hip Latino restaurant with a warm pub-like atmosphere, where you can always have a great pint of craft beer, cocktails, sangria, food, intelligent conversation and great entertainment. The Camaradas event will present War Against All Puerto Ricans within the broader context of New York City politics, the Nuyorican diaspora, and the growing debate over the political status of Puerto Rico.

The author, Nelson Denis, will answer questions and sign books after each event.

Denis also wishes to thank Judith Escalona at PR Dream; Julio Pabón at Mi Casa, Tu Casa; and Fernando Ruíz Lorenzo at Camaradas; for making all these events possible.

We’ll see you there!
